Born in the same year as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Polytechnique shootings, Arkadi Lavoie Lachapelle has experienced a path of university and post-university education, influenced by the 2012 student movement, third wave feminism and diverse spiritual practices. Since 2010, her sometimes anonymous and clandestine artistic adventures have taken place both in Canada and in small and large cities in Russia and Europe. She is involved in the organisation of several events, including VIVA! Art action and Journée sans culture.

Evolving mainly in Tio'tia: ke (Montréal) on Kanien'kehá: ka unceded territory, arkadi lavoie lachapelle’s considers her artistic practice as magic-disciplinary. Whether her work is manifesting in the public space, at a gallery, at conferences, or in the context of clandestine events, the artist cultivates the paradox of the performative gesture; it might be disturbing but it can also feel good. She participates in the organizing of the festival VIVA! Art Action. She has been invited as artist-in-residence and presented her work at various locations in Canada and Europe.
